February Update

Winter Beginners Course

Congratulations to the 24 people who took our Winter Beginners Course, all 24 passed and most achieved their Red Feather and or White Arrow awards, some of the juniors managing both awards at their first attempt.

We hope to welcome lots, hopefully all, of the beginners to the club, so please do say hello to any new archers you may spot at Laverstoke, Testbourne and hopefully The Warren too.

Late January Update

Congratulations to Ed Pockett, who shot at the Guildford Indoor Tournament, shooting a WA25 round, won the Barebow category, finishing 3points ahead of Ollie Hicks - so Congratulations for your win and for beating Ollie - sorry it's late!

Hampshire Indoor Competition

Three of our regular event entering members made the trip to Eastleigh to shoot in this years event.

On Saturday, which was a Double WA18:

Richard Buckner won Gold in the 50+ Recurve Category, his winning score was 27points better than the Senior Recurve Category winner.

On Sunday, which was a Double Portsmouth:

Richard Buckner won Gold in the 50+ Recurve Category, shooting an average of 569 for each round.

Steve Allam won Silver in the 50+ Barebow Category, albeit shooting a Traditional bow as Trad isn't recognised as a bow style at this event.

Rob Aldridge won Bronze in the 50+ Barebow Category.

Well done Gentlemen.

Winter Field League - Event 4

The largest field yet visited The Warren on a, sunny ish, Sunday morning.

42 archers went into the woods to shoot a 12 x 3D round. Once the 'adjusted scores' table was finished, Jed Cullen & Daniel Hawley came out joint 1st, with Ed Pocket, Angus Relf & Steve Allam finishing 4th, 5th & 6th, our top three placed OvBA archers.

The final round of the WFL takes place on Sunday the 10th of March. This is a 24 target shoot, 12 x field targets and 12 x 3D targets.

If you want to enter, please click here to book your spot, currently 30 archers have booked to take part.

What's more there will be a trial run of the catering facilities, so there will be bacon and sausage baps on offer and maybe some burgers too.

All British Field Championships 2024 - Can You Help?

The last weekend in May will see OvBA host the most prestigious annual UK Field Competition.

We would be most grateful if anyone who can spare a couple of hours to help prepare and set up the course, or help out on either Saturday 25th, or Sunday 26th during the event, can click here and tick the boxes for any of the dates and times you can help, thank you.
