A couple of weeks ago I rashly decided to pop up to the Kendal field shoot. Rash only because the weather report was not good. Sure enough, the day started wet, and got wetter. Getting back to where I was staying on Saturday night, took a lot longer than it should have done, as the road was under 2 feet of water.
Anyway, after the first day, somehow I was placed 1st, and then after the second day I came 4th overall in the recurve section. Gerald was also there and came 2nd in Gents Compound.
The short piece on Field Archery was shown on the BBC today, which has thrust some members into the giddy heights of fame,- we await calls from Hollywood - well at least Geoff has a chance in the new Star Wars film, with that T-shirt :-)
If you missed it, then you can find a sneaky video here:
Steve and Gerald both attended the second THWAC shoot last weekend. Day 1 was abit windy and hot. Day 2 was pretty horrible, with high winds and plenty of rain. In all about 80 archers were there - it was a nice course, mainly in the wood with some tricky shots where the distances were extremely hard to judge. A few people chose not to shoot the second day, and stayed a bit drier than the rest of us.
